Terra

An unmissable decorative trend: Terrazzo

"Terrazzo alla Veneziana", which means "Venetian paving", is the full name of the Terrazzo that we all know today. Terrazzo's origins can be traced back to the province of Verona in northern Italy. Terrazzo was used extensively in the early 20th century (after the First World War) to decorate Venetian palaces during the Art Deco period, as well as inside private homes, before waning in popularity.

For several years now, Terrazzo has gradually been making a comeback in our homes to produce a classic, modern or contemporary design.

Adopt a Terrazzo floor

Featuring fragments of coloured marble, natural stone and cement, Terrazzo is very often recognised for its strength and impermeability, meaning that it is ideally suited for use in wet areas, such as kitchens and bathrooms. Thanks to its different tones, it can easily be integrated and adapted to all types of home interiors.

In the kitchen, this type of decorative floor is usually combined with wooden furniture, as well as pastel or sober colours. It can be combined with light tones to liven up and bring extra character to a bathroom by adding splashes of deep colour (especially warm, terracotta, ochre or copper colours).

Terrazzo 2.0

Do you love this design with its originality and strength? That's handy, because here at Gerflor, we have created several designs in our roll, tile and plank ranges that do a magnificent job at imitating the terrazzo pattern, but with all the advantages of a PVC floor! A terrazzo vinyl floor covering avoids the tricky and complicated process of laying ceramic tiles, while providing a waterproof and hard-wearing floor that is perfectly suited to wet areas.

The advantages of your Terrazzo vinyl floor covering

Adopt the terrazzo vinyl flooring and make your life so much easier! Whether in tiles, planks or rolls, vinyl boasts countless advantages:
